Digestion + Sibo + IBS

The question we are left with when we have digestive problems is always - why?

We might take a food intolerance test and get the result that we need to avoid 117 different things. We think we are allergic to these. NO. A food intolerance test must be analyzed in conjunction with what else is affecting our body. There are certain foods we may be allergic towards but this will limit itself to a maximum of a few. When we have more than a few this indicates problems with our digestive capacity - not that we are allergic to 117 different things.

When our digestive capacity is low, we have a hard time digesting a lot of different foods - and so it's about finding the cause of reduced digestion rather than eating steamed rice and broiled cauliflower for the rest of our lives.

Maybe we test that there is aggressive gastrointestinal flora. This is rarely the cause of digestive disorders but merely a symptom of this, unless we have been through an antibiotic course that has destroyed our gut flora.

Digestive disorders such as IBS and SIBO may be due to heavy metals or other toxin loads such as mycotoxins which create inappropriate digestive conditions.

To assess gastrointestinal flora, we use infrared scanning as well as urine analysis in conjunction with studies on various toxins such as heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides and chemicals linked to digestive disorders. This provides a broader insight into other functions, while also reflecting digestive issues.

Part of the urine analysis is used for a general impression in relation to the body's excretion of organic acids as they relate to metabolism products. Metabolism is the sum of chemical reactions in living beings by which the body builds new molecules and breaks down molecules to eliminate waste products and produce energy. This gives us insight into candida, clostridia, oxalic acid load, various vitamins, neurotransmitter balance etc.

Thus, we rarely use stool specimens but instead, gastrointestinal flora is assessed from infrared scanning as well as the presence of opportunistic candida via the urine specimen. However, the tests can be replaced by other tests if you wish for one reason or another - we test according to the individual's wishes and needs. In the end, it's up to you, we simply recommend what makes the most sense, in order to get as much information as possible in relation to causal analysis.

This is also why it does not help to take probiotics in one go if one's bacterial imbalance is caused by a toxicity problem.
