New study shows that elevated blood levels of folate increases risk of breast cancer.
News like this is always tricky stuff, because it tends to scare many of us so much, that we immediately look at the label of our vitamins and toss out anything containing said vitamin.
Note, that too LOW levels of folate, however, will also result in a myriad of health issues: skin infections, compromised brain health, depressive issues and pregnancy complications.
Rather, what I always suggest, is that you get an annual checkup both of vitamin levels, fatty acids which can typically be done free by your primary care physician.
Testing is needed to know what your body truly needs - taking vitamins and health advice without testing doesn't make any sense. Everyone should get tested annually to PREVENT disease from happening - when the stroke hits it is too late. Nothing ever happens "out of the blue" - when you get sick, it is a sign that changes have been taking place gradually over years, something that can be prevented if it is detected.
Of course, I do this on myself also, that is the only thing that makes sense.
This also means that my labs now I have hit thirty are far better than they were in my twenties. And why is that? Well, because I tested and acted immediately on lab results that were not in optimal range. You cannot feel when your biochemistry first starts moving away from ideal - you won't really feel anything until your biochemistry is so out of whack that you get all the symptoms - and then go to the doctor based on symptoms, That is way too late to wait. And why would you wait for that? Get tested today - the kits even ship internationally wherever you are at. There are no excuses for not taking back control of your health.
