Headaches are almost as commonly accepted as the flu these days. And while there are many reasons why we suffer from headaches in our modern sedentary lifestyle, it is not something we should accept - it is a sign the something is off and painkillers alone is not going to bring our body back in balance even if they temporarily can help calm the pain.
Many of the same triggers that causes a simple headache are involved in the more severe migraine attacks. Migraines are not the same as regular headaches that most people experience occasionally. During a migraine attack, you may feel sharp, stabbing pain, typically on one side of the head. Migraines are much more intense than regular headaches and often come with other symptoms like visual disturbances, nausea and vomiting.
Headaches, especially migraines, can greatly affect your quality of life.
Prolonged migraines may result in a combination of chronic migraines and tension headaches.
While every body and biochemistry is unique, I have found some or all of factors to be the root causes of migraines in most cases:
EMF exposure: vast research is linking EMF from our cellphones, wifi, cell towers and smart gadgets to migraines and headaches. Get someone to help you identify the sources in your own daily life and how to mitigate them. I do an EMF health check on all clients who do a health check-up at the clinic, because their daily radiation exposure is just as important - if not more - as what they eat and overall lifestyle.
Low magnesium og mineral levels: I have found Magnesium Threonate to be key to alleviate headaches. Magnesium is something almost every single one of us are low in and Magnesium Threonate is the only type that can cross the brain-blood barrier. I also run mineral check-ups on all client who come in for a health check-up, because mineral deficiency is essential to correct before any other steps are taken, as enzymes and mitochondria depend on proper mineral supply to be able to produce energy and detox.
Poor posture: when we do the doctor-supervised thermography scan on clients, it is obvious that too many of us have very poor posture resulting in a lot of tension around the neck and spine. When we see how the body is out of alignment, it enables us to correct it through proper exercises and insoles. Often times shock-wave therapy to break up calcifications can be a helpful tool as well.
Mold toxins: Mold is notorious for causing heach aches, migraines and hormone imbalances. Especially women are sensitive to this as we already have a lot of estrogen in our body - mold toxins are super powerful estrogenic mimickers. And this is very bad new: estrogen dominance causes the brain to swell, resulting in severe migraine attacks.
The key here is to understand that ALL 4 things must be corrected. If one part is overlooked it is enough for migraine attacks to continue. This is where I see most clients fail: they may choose to focus on 2 or 3 and overlook one aspect. This is not enough to prevent reoccurance of migraines. It is similar to building a chair - you won’t be able to use it til all 4 legs have been assembled. Yet we often fail to understand that we are on the right path if symptom improvement doesn’t occur in the process - i.e. step 1 or 2 and then we give up. From years of clinical practice I can only say what I see: all the pieces of the puzzle needs to be fit together before the labs get better - and THEN the symptoms improve.
Healing takes time, and we didn’t get sick overnight - imbalances take years, often decades to accumulate. Thus prevention is always much easier and cheaper than treatment after illness occurs.
