NEW PODCAST EPISODE: HOW TO NAVIGATE (MIS)INFORMATION OVERLOAD In HEALTH TODAY
I’m on Danish podcast show “Rikke Paa Vrangen”. We’re talking about how to navigate the overload of (mis)information in nutrition and health – a world where everyone seems to be an “expert” these days, but only few actually have a nutrition-related educational background - unfortunately adding to a wealth of misinformation.
How do you know what’s real, what’s marketing, and what’s just plain dangerous?
We go over tools to think critically, act strategically, and navigate the chaos of information.
Why health communication is broken – and how we fix it
We’re living in a time where more people than ever speak publicly about health – yet the conversation has never been more confusing. Why?
Here’s what I see:
1) People without formal training speak with absolute certainty
2) Audiences rarely ask where the information comes from
3) Extreme messages get the most traction – because they appeal to our black-and-white thinking
But the human body isn’t binary. Health isn’t ideological.
Why Nutritional Therapies Are Rejected By Mainstream Medicine
“The medical community has been slow to adopt targeted nutritional supplementation for mental health and healing—a form of rejection and resistance dubbed “The Tomato Effect.” But a new paradigm—a “redefined” perspective—is slowly but surely gaining ground.
For decades, I’ve struggled to understand the tragically slow pace that medicine adopts to the role of diet and nutrition on brain health. This article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) from 1984 has given me insight on why and it may be illuminating for you too. Please let me know your thoughts.
In the article I’m referring to, titled “The Tomato Effect,” the team of Dr. James Goodwin (internal medicine) and Dr. Jean Goodwin (psychiatry) wrote:
“The tomato effect in medicine occurs when an efficacious treatment for a certain disease is ignored or rejected because it does not ‘make sense’ in light of the accepted theories of disease mechanism and drug interaction.”

Are you taking synthetic vitamin C?
I am not a big fan of synthetic supplements - and there are plenty of studies supporting that synthetic vitamins are NOT comparable to natural vitamins due to missing co-factors amongst other issues.
Synthetic vitamin C is however what most of us are consuming if we are taking supplements on the regular. And I only recommend synthetic vitamin C if you are acutely fighting an infection as the longterm benefits are severely lacking - on the contrary.
A recent study reported a positive association between supplemental vitamin C intake and kidney stones in a cohort of 23,355 Swedish men; the multivariable adjusted relative risk associated with supplemental use of vitamin C was almost double compared with no use!
Read the full study here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23381591/
NOTE: I absolutely do recommend supplements, but the quality most of us are taking is absolute garbage and not related to better health outcome. The headlines in the newspapers do not differentiate between synthetic supplements and naturally derived supplements, although this is the key issue in the health outcome!
Glyphosate found in high levels in almost everyone
Many of us turn to clean skin care products - it has almost become a gimmick at this point in time. Especially as many of the so-called clean beauty products do nothing good for the skin - they don’t contain actually skin benefitting ingredients, but can get a label touting “clean” simply by avoiding the main allergy-triggers.
Although it is a good idea to focus on the health-damaging chemicals around us, it is even more important that we understand how to prioritize our efforts to not get overwhelmed with insignificant details. I.e. it doesn’t matter if a little perfume has been added to a soap (unless we are hyper allergic), but it does matter how clean our drinking and bathing water is and whether we cook and store food in contact with plastic (heat/ acid effect primarily). It is most often from such boring everyday sources that the majority of the chemicals we get back on the lab tests done on clients are derived from. Chemicals related to increased disease risk incl. cancer.
Scientific American: "We have no reason to believe 5g is safe"
“Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.”

Article feature: why we want to let go of the victim mindset
I am featured in an article in CanvasRebel on my thoughts on how our upbringing affects our ability to navigate in life.
When it comes to moving the needle to become healthier and happier beings, I believe one of the most important things we need to remember today is to avoid the trap of the victim mindset. Whatever has happened in our life, nothing good comes from ongoing victimization. There may be many reasons as to why we feel victimized - and indeed sometimes we simply are the victim. However, no empowerment comes if we choose to keep being a victim long-term. We all go through trauma - the key is to not to get stuck in poor-me or bitterness - but rather to develop character, compassion and resilience as we face obstacles in life.
Obviously this is much easier said than done, and there are certainly many cases where I cannot fathom how any human has endured such struggles we sometimes read about in the news or elsewhere. Yet the fact is that only misery and resentment comes from allowing ourselves to stay stuck in a victim mindset.
And for many of us, we have a choice to create the life we want rather than complain about the life we have and yet we take no action to change it.

Article feature: How EMF from wifi, smartphones and more is a hidden health threat
I have written about the health issues surrounding man-made radiation from wifi, smart phones and cell towers for the Danish health organization MayDay. Read it here:

MayDay is one of the organizations I myself have chosen to support, because they do a huge amount of voluntary work to ensure free speech, balanced debate and oppose monopoly on our health - you can support them for only DKK 200 annually:

A word of hope from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
These are times when we need to understand the importance of faith. We need to behave less like sheep and to think outside the box and ask critical questions - not anarchy, but simply using our common sense, which is a sense many of us have buried a long time ago. We need to focus on the things which connect us as human beings rather than what separates us, and to understand the fundaments of how freedom vs. fascism works.
