Are Seed Oils Really That Bad? Let’s Talk Facts — Not Fear
Let’s be honest: if you hang out on health TikTok or deep-dive into wellness podcasts, you’ve probably heard people calling seed oils "toxic," "inflammatory," or even “the root of all chronic disease.”
Seed oils — like canola, sunflower, soybean, and corn oil — have been demonized hard in recent years. But here's the truth: seed oils are not inherently bad, and some of the claims against them are, well… a little overcooked.
Let’s unpack what’s actually true, what’s overhyped, and why omega-6 fats (the main component of seed oils) are literally essential for your body.
Sugar Is Not Toxic: A Scientific Perspective
Sugar is not a toxin. You cannot “detox” from sugar. Sugar often gets a bad rap in today’s health-conscious world, with many headlines labeling it as “toxic.” But when we take a closer look at the science, the reality is more nuanced. Sugar, in and of itself, is not toxic — it is a natural component of many foods and plays important roles in human biology.
No, lemon water is not a "health gimmick"
I’ve been drinking lemon or grapefruit juice diluted into water the first thing every morning for decades, literally. Yes decades, without going further into dating myself here.
While I too get real tired of wild claims about this or that diet, mainly because there is never good science behind, I do not tire of the potential of understanding foods therapeutic impact on the body. Having worked with nutrition for 20 years, I have seen so many diets come and go, it drives me nuts, that we have to make something so simple, so very complicated.
It is actually quite simple: stop eating extremes, stop eating restrictive, figure out why your health is not good and treat the underlying cause of that.
ARTICLE feature: Women’s Health - 7 Essential Supplements to Keep You Healthy
“As a woman, you have unique nutritional needs when compared to men. And in a perfect world, you’d meet all those requirements through a balanced diet. But in reality, eating healthy isn’t enough.
“A key thing I see a lot of women struggling with is being undernourished–in large part, due to depleted soil which results in our fruit and veggies only containing a fraction of nutrients compared to what they did 50 years ago,” says Christina Santini, clinical nutritionist and owner of The Nutrition Clinic in Los Angeles, CA. “This is easily a recipe for disaster because both our overall health and hormones along with our appetite control center is tightly regulated by how nutrient dense our diet is.”
So even if you eat a wholesome, balanced diet, proper supplementation is key–especially during the winter. Here are the best women’s supplements to keep you healthy and vital all season long–and for years to come.”

Study finds: How long-term use of Botox actually accelerates skin aging
A 2016 study published in PLoS One found that Botox leads to loss in tissue density and bone volume, among other side effects. In short: Botox is not harmless and seems to accelerate skin aging (thin skin) when used long-term due to its muscle weakening effect.

Blood anemia due to parasites not iron deficiency
Did you know anaemia may be caused by parasite infections? Typically, when you're diagnosed anemia, you're told you need iron. However, that is far from true. Anaemia can be due to several other things than iron deficiency - and many will also discover by further testing that their iron is actually quite normal, despite the fact that they have been diagnosed with anaemia. Iron is one of the minerals you certainly don't just want to take “just in case” - there are as many negative aspects of too much iron as too low. New figures from the CDC reflect that over 50 % of us carry parasite infections. Can you test for that? Not currently no - the available laboratory testing for parasites are useless as they are extremely inaccurate, so don’t waste your money or time on that. If you have traveled in India, Asia, Africa or regularly eat sushi, like your steaks rare, have pets - and if you have never taken been on a parasite cleanse, you can count on that yes, you have parasites. And if you have any of the symptoms (skin rash, constipation, anaemia, various digestive disorders) that can typically be linked to these unesthetic crawlers, then it's very simply a matter of just start treating them - because the question is generally not whether we have them, but to how much we are burdened by them. Yes, it's super gross, but only more gross is not doing anything about it. Reference: Asia Pac J Clin Nutr. 2007;16(4):716-23. Cordyceps: more than 21 clinically approved benefits on human health including anti-diabetic, anti-tumor, anti-oxidative, immunomodulatory, sexual potentiator and anti-ageing effects.
“Cordyceps has a long history of use as a lung and kidney tonic, and for the treatment of chronic bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis and other diseases of the respiratory system. The cardiovascular effects of Cordyceps are being noticed more frequently by researchers as it works through variety of possible ways either by lowering high blood pressure via direct dilatory effects or mediated through M-cholinergic receptors resulting in improvement in the coronary and cerebral blood circulation.”
Silica better than collagen? Its relation to bones, hair, nails and skin beauty.
I am currently experimenting with different types of silica and bioavailability. Silica is something 99.9% lacks when I test for it, and this is a crucial mineral for everything beauty and bone related. And let’s not forget it is placed next to that heavy metal aluminium in the periodic table and these two guys have a tendency to exchange places. Meaning, when our body is lacking silica, we become more vulnerable to store aluminium. Silica (or silicon) minimizes wrinkles, improves hair strand strength and nails, it increases collagen production and thereby also the appearance of cellulite. I am completely convinced silica is THE MOST OVERLOOKED beauty and bone nutrient of today. Better than Botox, may I add.

Is aspartame really harmless just cause it doesn't cause cancer?
Just because something doesn’t cause cancer, doesn’t mean it’s harmless - that should be pretty obvious for all and sundry. Yet that is often the argument these days people use to promote the use of artificial sweeteners like aspartame. I am no fan of anything that mimics calorie intake yet tricks the brain by not containing calories. This is the baseline of how we learned as babies to count our calories naturally: sweet taste = energy intake. When we mess with this fine-tuned system, we risk messing with our appetite-hunger switch and spiralling into yo-yo diets. Click to read on about how aspartame is linked to accelerated aging.

New Copenhagen event (in Danish only) Tuesday 5th of May: Anti-aging strategies to look and feel great
Tuesday 5th of May 17-19:30 at Health Clinic, Amaliegade 42, 1236 Copenhagen I am doing another open talk even in Copenhagen - write to viva@vitavica.com to register. Did you know that your liver is your # 1 anti-aging organ? That your liver is responsible for metabolizing hormones and detoxifying. If your liver does not work you will see it in your skin and may also suffer with reduced ability to burn fat as well as hormonal imbalances - things we most often treat as symptoms rather than identifying the underlying cause. Last open talk event in February was fully booked. I can be booked for talks in Los Angeles and Copenhagen - to book a talk drop me a line by replying to this email.
Is going meatless a game-changer?
Y’all have probably already seen the movie making its rounds on Netflix: Game Changer. Now this is not going to be an in-depth analysis of everything that’s wrong or right with this movie with scientific references to back it up. Because here’s the deal: you can find scientific studies on almost anything to back up your agenda. The problem with the majority of science today is it is deliberately designed to make for a specific outcome due to vested interests (one of the movie producers of Game Changer sells pea protein for a living, just saying). So the solution is to use your brain and consider whether things make sense. Logical reasoning is something we don’t use very much anymore, to the point where we will almost believe anything if the sentence “science” follows. There is a huge difference between whether the “so-called science” is done on men, women, old, young, athletes, overweight, underweight, someone with a history of addiction or just your plain old average sedentary Joe. These segments do not share the same biochemical blueprint nor do they metabolize foods the same way and their requirements to perform optimally for their life is very different.
Mold - the hidden health threat in your home
Did you know that something as simple as mold is linked to migraines, "fog brain", depression, digestive disorders, skin ulcers, sinusitis, cancer, estrogen dominance, joint pain and weight problems?
Yes, the symptoms (1,2,3,4,5,6) range widely and which we develop depends on our genetic dispositions and other biochemical imbalances in the body. Recently, an article was written in a Danish newspaper outlet about a case involving a woman who had even lost sight due to mold. And in spite of that, we cannot get tested for these things covered via the public healthcare system which we have paid more than our fair share of taxes towards. So much for socialist wellfare system. No wonder we have so many so-called "chronic disorders" when we do not offer testing to investigate possible toxins involved in these disorders. Our health care system status quo is very unscientific quite frankly.
