I’ve been treating mold illness as one of the first practitioners in Europe since 2012. To this day it still surprises me how deeply unhealthy homes many of us live in, yet we are hyper focused on our eating habits. However, it doesn’t matter however healthy you eat, if you are literally inhaling toxins with every breath you take.
We need to master the basics of clean air, pure water supply and solid sleep in order to expect any miracles happening our way. These are basics we cannot eat our way out of nor exercise our way out of.
Some of us need to relax and eat a slice of cake and focus on what is really making us sick - which may have nothing to do with what we eat (or don’t eat).
This is why it is a good idea to get checked out, so we are not stuck guessing what is wrong with us and trying every new diet fad under the sun to no avail.
I wrote an article about how our moldy homes are making us unwell - read it here (in Danish only): https://lns.dk/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/W2-22_LNS_NATUR-HELSE_2022_Maj.pdf (page 18 and on)

Study shows that exposure to EMF slows growth of beneficial bacteria. This results in that pathological organisms can dominate. In the study they used kombucha to compensate for this mechanism, which showed good results. Nevertheless it is extremely worrying that our gut microbiome is impacted by EMF. Approaches to balance intestinal flora for those of us struggling with EHS or other chronic conditions possibly linked to excessive EMF exposure is needed in addition to most importantly minimizing exposure. Another study showed that certain types of pathogenic gut bacteria gained resistance to antibiotics when exposed to EMFs emitted from WiFi and cellular phones. This can become a problem because as these bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, they become more difficult to eradicate from our gut if we have an overgrowth.

Recently I read yet another post from one of the more famous health and nutrition influencers claiming that bread and beans are “inflammatory” and should be avoided by all who wants health. This is one of the most stubborn health myths around, as everyone and their grandma has gone glutenfree these days. And unfortunately many self-claimed health gurus keep pushing this bad science. The majority of the people pushing this have zero education in nutrition, and it shows. They may be great medical doctors, good chiropractors or just savvy businessmen, who now make a living off selling health gadgets after their own history of burn-out. However, this does not make their insight into nutritional biochemistry great - just like I shouldn’t go around offering surgery on everyone and sundry just cause I saw a youtube video about it. That would be pretty crazy, frankly. And I also think it is pretty crazy for everyone to wake up and write books and blogs about nutrition with zero educational background or in-clinic training. There are a lot of issues with this type of bad science being promoted.

Everything in life is about timing. We know this intuitively - we can have the right credentials, but if we present ourselves to a potential business opportunity at the wrong time, we lose out. We can meet “the right person” at “the wrong time” - and we miss out.
I’d say the most important thing in life is neither talent nor hard work, but mastering the art of timing.
This essentially means we can get away with working smarter rather than harder in life at whatever goal it is we want. This doesn’t mean lazy, it just means understanding how to roll with resistance and surf on the waves, rather than swim against them and end up utterly burnt out. Which is, inevitable what many A-type personalities do: they keep at it til they are completely beyond exhaustion. While hard work can be admirable, there is nothing admirable about working yourself through to the bone. Life is supposed to be fun and we want to thrive.
And if we want that, the single most important thing to learn is how everything in life revolves around timing.
This applies especially to our body - how it secretes digestive enzymes and hormones at certain times throughout the day. How eating too much too late can interfere with proper detoxification at night and deep sleep. These are proven today to be irrefutable facts according to modern science and its study in circadian rhythm. Ironically this advice has been around since ancient time according to Ayurvedic teachings.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding going all-in vegan aka plant-based. A popular Netflix doc was made showing how athletes reported greater endurance, performance and so forth when switching over to a plant-based diet.
And this totally makes sense.
However, this led non-athletes to believe that they should copy the eating pattern of athletes, because “obviously“ this was showing to be the ideal way to eat.
Now this totally does not make sense.
Athletes typically have an energy demand of around 8000-10000 calories daily and require 1-1.5g of protein pr. kg. bodyweight. An average Joe might have an energy demand of around 2000-3000 calories daily and still require 1-1.5g of protein for optimal appetite control, bone health and muscle growth.
The athlete is thus needing to eat 3-5 x as many calories to meet their energy demand, yet their protein demand is about the same as your average Joe. This means the athlete is going to benefit from eating more plant-based food because they can easily reach their protein requirements from plants alone due to the high volume they are taking in daily.
Now if you downsize that food to about a quarter which meets the energy demand for the average Joe, you’re going to have great difficulty meeting your protein needs. And this will affect your overall health negatively: often weightloss resistance, cravings, muscle-loss, bone-loss and sagging skin even.

I’ve never been a fan of light products. It’s just counterintuitive to common sense: the body counts calories partly based on taste in combo with calorie density, and if we mess with food, that will very likely have an impact on our appetite-satiety switch, which is the worst thing ever to mess with, if we wish to have a healthy relationship with food, body and weight. It is true: we don’t have science to support that drinking artificial sweetened products can be tied to serious diseases. However, I think that is pretty much besides the point. Just because you don’t get cancer from one single life-style factor, it doesn’t make it harmless.

“Several meta-analyses dating from about 2000 all report significant associations between exposure and risk of leukemia. By examining subsequent reports on childhood leukemia it is clear that almost all government or independent studies find either a statistically significant association between magnetic field exposure and childhood leukemia, or an elevated risk of at least OR = 1.5, while almost all industry supported studies fail to find any significant or even suggestive association. A secondary goal of this report is to examine the level of evidence for exposure and elevated risk of various adult cancers. Based on pooled or meta-analyses as well as subsequent peer-reviewed studies there is strong evidence that excessive exposure to magnetic fields increases risk of adult leukemia, male and female breast cancer and brain cancer. There is less convincing but suggestive evidence for elevations in several other cancer types. There is less clear evidence for bias based on source of funding in the adult cancer studies. There is also some evidence that both paternal and maternal prenatal exposure to magnetic fields results in an increased risk of leukemia and brain cancer in offspring. When one allows for bias reflected in source of funding, the evidence that magnetic fields increase risk of cancer is neither inconsistent nor inconclusive. Furthermore adults are also at risk, not just children, and there is strong evidence for cancers in addition to leukemia, particularly brain and breast cancer.”
I recommend everyone get an EMFields Acoustimeter AM11 (retails for approx. 500USD/ 2800 Danish Kroner), which is an easy tool to measure your home environment safety and do something about it. Without testing your environment and understanding where it is coming from (your own devices, cell phone towers, your neighbour’s wifi router placed against your bedroom etc.), it gets very abstract to talk about whether EMF is an issue for your and your family - test don’t guess. A European medical study found that approx. 62% of adults whom doctors examined had an average of 10-12 pounds of residual fecal matter buildup in their large intestines and rectums. Even people who had a bowel movement daily were at risk for accumulating old fecal matter. The majority of my clients I start of putting on a variety of herbal supplements including mimosa pudica which literally scrubs the gut and gets rids of old fecal matter and biofilm. It smells utterly disgusting the first couple months when people go to the restroom, because old bacteria and rotten fecal matter is being expelled. But better that, than having this stuff inside our gut, creating chronic inflammation and inhibiting our ability to absorb nutrients. We are NOT what we eat, if we can’t absorb it. And if the walls of our gut is insulated with a layer of old fecal matter, we have created a haven for inflammatory conditions, pathogenic bacteria, parasites etc. If we do not remove this, but rather focus on treating the situations created by this toxic environment, we will never get to the root of the cause. We will stay stuck in symptom-management: taking stuff for our bacteria balance, getting rid of fungus growth or focusing on killing the parasites etc. All of which need to be addressed, but if the environment in which these things thrive is not cleaned up, it is all in vain, and will not last in the long-term whenever we stop “treatment”. We are NOT supposed to be stuck in need of constant treatment - we are supposed to treat the core issues and then be able to finally live a normal life. The Succesful Body is about understanding health from every angle and finding our weakest link - whether that be mental, physical, spiritual or a combination. I wrote a chapter about how toxins today have contributed to an epidemic of chronic illness. Many don’t realize that toxins wreak havoc on the gut and are linked to digestive disorders, brain fog and the list goes on. A lot of blame has been placed on gluten, but the problem might not be gluten as much as damaged gut due to other factors, we rarely think about.. Probiotics and restrictive diets won’t cure much, if the underlying toxicity isn’t solved. In the world we live in today, so-called clean eating and exercise just isn’t cutting it anymore. We are living in a world with completely new health challenges that needs to be addressed, if we are to thrive in the skin we are in while eating double layered chocolate cake, cos life is too short not to eat cake.. When we want to improve our health, we oftentimes spend all our time focusing on one aspect of our health. And this aspect may not be the one which is causing the health imbalance. This is why “test don’t guess” becomes super important - we want to know our weaknesses and also what our body nutritionally needs (protein/fats/(carbs/vitamin/minerals etc.). If we don’t know the facts, then we might be missing the boat completely. It is super unscientific to guess what will make an impact on our health. Health is not simply “move more and eat more greens”. Everyone knows that, yet many of us who follow that basic recommendation, are not at all healthy. We struggle with abdominal fat, infertility issues, fragile bones, migraines, digestive upset whenever we are not eating bland diet foods and in worst case, we get cancer. The key here is to understand the many different factors today that affect health and pin-point which are relevant for our specific situation. We want to focus on our weakest link. Quite often that has nothing to do with eating glutenfree or skipping cake.

EMF exposure increases levels of peroxynitrite. Peroxynitrite is a powerful oxidant exhibiting a wide array of tissue damaging effects, including lipid peroxidation, inactivation of enzymes and ion channels via protein oxidation and nitration, and inhibition of mitochondrial respiration (Virag et al., 2003). In a single generation, there has been a dramatic acceleration in the prevalence of diseases and disorders like autism (2094%), Alzheimer’s (299%), COPD (148%), diabetes (305%), sleep apnea (430%), celiac disease (1111%), ADHD (819%), asthma (142%), depression (280%), bipolar disease in youth (10833%), osteoarthritis (449%), lupus (787%), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD –120%), chronic fatigue syndrome (11027%), fibromyalgia (7727%), multiple sclerosis (117%) and hypothyroidism (702%). Okay, that’s a bit of a generalization, and it depends to a certain extent what your diet mainly consists of. I have always thought, it was completely missing the boat, both when it comes to our health and common-sense, when people started developing these theories of anti-nutrients in plant-foods. I.e. thinking that a low thyroid issue was due to eating too much broccoli. No one eats that amount of broccoli - it’s just plain unrealistic. And now we finally have the science to stop talking about this nonsense. Yet on the flipside: anti-nutrients do become an issue these days, because we are seeing the rise of so many ridiculous extreme diets i.e. the rise of raw vegan green detox fad type of extremist diets. It is entirely possible to eat so monotone and restrictive, that you are actually eating too much of a select type of anti-nutrient group, resulting in health issues in the long run. Click on to read the study debunking the theory of anti-nutrients.

Parasites do not just inhabit the stool - thus testing for parasites is highly inaccurate through stool-testing. Easily we will be told that we are parasite-free, when fact is - it is more likely we have parasites than not. According to CDC 33% of Americans have parasites - and probably more. I recommend simply treating parasites 3 months with botanicals. 70% of parasites are microscopic, so you won’t see them in the toilet, but if you happen to be the lucky host of other types, they will be visible. Everybody who has travelled, eaten sushi or undercooked meat, has pets etc. they should do a parasite cleanse. And obvious symptoms are digestive issues, bloating, skin rashes, and extreme difficulty gaining weight in some cases (only if you have a tape-worm infection though). I have seen quite a few underweight men, who simply cannot gain weight for the life of them regardless of strength training - and turned out they had a most unwelcome guest in the form of a tape-worm eating up all their nutrition. A stool-test will not be accurate in detecting this in most cases - simply treat it, and see what ends up in your toilet in the next 3 months time. These critters are opportunistic and thrive in body’s with a high toxic load, and can impair liver, kidney and gallbladder functioning. Here is a study explaining how parasites inhabit different parts of our body, and thus why testing for parasites in stool is similar odds to winning the lottery (obviously no one wants to win this lottery, but hey, it is what it is) Download the study here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6842148/pdf/13071_2019_Article_3791.pdf Okay, that’s all for now folks.
